We are seeking an experienced Succession Lawyer to join our respected firm. If you have at least two years’ post-admission experience (PAE) and a strong understanding of  succession law, we invite you to apply. Estate litigation experience will be highly regarded.

About the Role
  • Provide legal advice on Wills, Powers of Attorney Advanced Health Directives, and estate planning.
  • Draft and review Wills (including Testamentary Trust Wills), and related documents.
  • Guide executors, administrators, and beneficiaries in estate administration.
  • Handle applications for probate and letters of administration, including complex and disputed matters.
  • Manage estate litigation, including family provision claims and contested estates.
  • Collaborate with clients and other professionals for practical solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments and mentor junior lawyers.

About You
  • Admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia with a current practising certificate.

Your Role:

You'll support our Ingham Lawyer and provide remote support to our Townsville Office including undertaking the following tasks

  • Answering and directing incoming calls;
  • Handling and recording mail and local deliveries;
  • File administration and record management; and
  • Assisting with the day to day running of the office.

Mackey Wales Law is seeking to employ a highly reliable and motivated team player for the position of Administration Assistant. This is an entry level role, ideally suited to a university student in the early stages of their law degree. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate valuable experience and an opportunity to further progress their legal career in a busy office environment.

Mackey Wales Law is a leading Townsville legal practice providing tailored and high-quality legal services. We aim to provide a personal yet commercial approach to each engagement with our clients.

The role is varied and its primary purpose is to support our current administration team including by assisting with the following:

  • answering and directing incoming calls;
  • handling and recording mail and local deliveries; and
  • file administration and record management.

Candidates with the appropriate skills may also be tasked with legal research and file work.

This role is perfect for a motivated team player who is well presented with a passion for client servicing. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior experience working in a professional service firm;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience in commercial or residential conveyancing transactions;
  • A highly organised approach to work; and
  • Professional presentation.

Experience with legal practice management systems will be highly regarded.
