
Peter Mackey
Peter is a commercial lawyer who has practised since 1979 in Townsville and in rural communities both in partnership and as a sole practitioner.
Peter served as North Queensland Law Association President in 1993 and arranged the first Queensland Law Society Mediation Qualification course for solicitors in North Queensland.
He has been principal to four articled clerks and has provided commercial law presentations at the Queensland Law Society Symposium and North Queensland Law Association conferences. Peter has provided presentations upon requests from different banks on rural property transfers.
As one of three Queensland Law Society Senior Counsellors in the Townsville district (appointed in 1999), Peter is often consulted by other solicitors in respect of property law matters. He has recently completed a 2 year term on the Queensland Law Society Ethics Committee and Rules sub-Committee. He also has extensive Court Martial experience as an officer in the Army Reserve and frequently acts in honorary legal positions for charitable and sporting associations.
Interests outside Law are family, clay target shooting, snow skiing and flying.

Peter now concentrates on the development of the Mackey Wales Law residential conveyancing team, rural operations, in-house and external educationals, systems development and Practice management. |
